Cancel Vehicle Registration

This service enables you to apply for a possession certificate for a vehicle registered in the Dubai traffic system, issue a certificate to export a vehicle outside the UAE or to transfer your vehicle from Dubai to another emirate. Then, your vehicle registration will be cancelled rendering the vehicle not roadworthy.

Citizens, Residents, and GCC Nationals
  1. Emirates ID
  2. Electronic technical inspection (in case of an expired electronic licence)

Companies (Free Zone)

  1. Emirates ID of the authorised person
  2. Trade Licence
  3. Letter from the company
  4. Memorandum of Association translated into Arabic (legalised translation)
  5. A letter from the free zone authority for the areas Jafza, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Airport
  6. Sale and purchase agreement with the company
  7. Electronic technical inspection (in case of an expired electronic licence)

Diplomatic Bodies

  1. Emirates ID of the authorised person
  2. NOC from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (when a vehicle is with consulate plates)
  3. Electronic technical inspection (in case of an expired electronic licence)
Commercial Companies
  1. Emirates ID of the authorised person
  2. Trade Licence
  3. Letter from the company
  4. Sale and purchase agreement with the company
  5. Memorandum of Association translated into Arabic (legalised translation)
  6. Electronic technical inspection (in case of an expired electronic licence)

Local and Federal Governmental and Semi-Governmental Entities

  1. Emirates ID of the authorised person
  2. Letter from the governmental entity
  3. Electronic technical inspection (in case of an expired electronic licence)

Vehicle Possession Certificate

  1. 100 – For the Owner
  2. 20 – Knowledge and Innovation fees
  3. 400 – Change of possession fees (For the Buyer)
  4. 100 – Certificate fees (For the Buyer)
  5. 20 – Knowledge and Innovation fees

Vehicle Export Certificate

  1. 50 – Light vehicle
  2. 50 – Vehicle between 3 and 12 tonnes
  3. 100 – Vehicle exceeding 12 tonnes
  4. 50 – Light mechanical equipment
  5. 100 – Heavy mechanical equipment
  6. 50 – Bus with 14–26 passengers
  7. 100 – Bus with over 26 passengers
  8. 170 – Trailer and semi trailer
  9. 50 – Motorcycle
  10. 70 – Export plates
  11. 350 – Changing ownership fees
  12. 50 – Selling fees (if exporting to another person’s name)
  13. 20 – Knowledge and Innovation fees

Certificate of Vehicle Transfer from Dubai to Another Emirate

  1. 100 – Vehicle between 3 and 12 tonnes
  2. 200 – Vehicle exceeding 12 tonnes
  3. 100 – Light mechanical equipment
  4. 200 – Heavy mechanical equipment
  5. 100 – Bus with 14–26 passengers
  6. 200 – Bus with over 26 passengers
  7. 100 – Motorcycle
  8. 100 – Trailer or semi-trailer
  9. 100 – Replacing lost/damaged certificate
  10. 20 – Knowledge and Innovation fee
  11. 120 – Transfer fee if registered under same name
  1. 520 – If vehicle registered in Dubai and transferred to another emirate under different person
    1. 100 – Light vehicle
    2. 50 – Selling fees
    3. 350 – Ownership transfer
    4. 20 – Knowledge and Innovation fee
  2. 170 – If vehicle wasn’t registered and transferred to another emirate under different person
    1. 100 – Light vehicle
    2. 50 – Selling fees
    3. 20 – Knowledge and Innovation fee

Note*: A fee of 20  will be added for Knowledge/Innovation for services valued at 50 or less.
